On Monday evening, May 8 the Seattle Conservatory of Music, SYSO’s newest program, will present an evening of chamber music performed by outstanding student musicians from SYSO orchestras and beyond. Over 30 students will present polished performances of music by Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy and others. Two of the best loved string quartets by Beethoven, his Op. 18, No. 3 and Op. 59, No. 3 will highlight the program as will Debussy’s languid and seductive String Quartet in G minor.

The Seattle Conservatory’s chamber music program provides student musicians with professional coaching sessions throughout the year held on Saturday afternoons and Monday evenings at Shorecrest High School, Seattle Pacific University and the Green Lake Methodist Church. The ensembles present two formal concerts during the academic year and participate in the Seattle Chamber Music Society’s “Music Under the Stars” performances in the summer months.

The 7:00PM concert is free and open to the public and there will be a reception immediately following the concert. Green Lake United Methodist Church is located at 6415 First Avenue NE, in Seattle.
